2009/2010 - Feed the Need
Feed the Need in Durham (FTND) is a not-for-profit organization seeking to improve the collection and distribution of food and available resources to emergency food providers in Durham Region.
2008/2009 - Durham Children’s Aid Foundation
Established in 2004 by the Durham Children's Aid Society, they are located in its partner organization’s new building in Oshawa. The Foundation offers children in need a variety of supports that are not covered by government funding.
2007/2008 - Herizon House
Herizon House is a shelter for abused women and their children. The shelter is located in Ajax, Ontario, and serves the Durham and Clarington regions.
2005/2006/2007 - Hearth Place
Hearth Place is a support centre where cancer patients and their families can come and share their experiences, find resources and discover new ways to care for themselves and each other.
Charity Selection
The goal of Hearts of Durham is to support one community initiative each year based on outlying needs within the region. It is the vision of Hearts of Durham that by working with and supporting local resources, all of our families will benefit by living, working and playing in a stronger community. Our group believes by supporting these initiatives in our community – we can make a difference.
